The Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) has been announced as a finalist for the Australian HR Institute’s (AHRI) award for Most Inclusive Workplace. This award recognises organisations where diversity, equity and inclusion are embedded into ways of working and demonstrated through a culture of safety and respect for all employees.
Submissions were judged against a rigorous criterion, taking into account employee voice and experience, leadership endorsement, and strategy sustainability, among others.
In the last 12 months, AFCA has delivered a number of initiatives, including launching its Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging strategy and establishing four Employee Resource Groups.
These groups aim to promote engagement and foster a sense of belonging among employees, particularly those with disabilities, individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and those with family and carer responsibilities.
Earlier this year, AFCA also introduced flexible public holiday leave and women’s health leave among new benefits in its enhanced leave policy.
This latest nomination comes recently after AFCA was named Employer of Choice in the Australian HR Awards.
AFCA congratulates the other finalists and looks forward to attending an AHRI celebration event on 1 December 2023, where the winner will be announced.
